WHATS A SATURDAY LIKE IN YOUR OFFICE

In our office most of the posties go into a frenzy ,coming in about 45 min before theyre due, sorting about 200 letters a min lterally running around office to get out BECAUSE ITS A SATURDAY back about 2hrs early and saturday would be quiet heavy .Then on a monday back to normal complaining about there mates running round the deliverys ruining the deliverys mon -friday whats it like in your office ?

Not as bad as that, but pretty crazy, I hate it.

All the usual scams are exaggerated 10 fold as postman battle to be the first to finish, disagreeing with those who are their mates Monday to Friday and to hell with the service. Those who have continuing complaints of arthritis, spongulitis, strains, other debilitating illness Mon Fri suddenly cast off their troubles by some weird healing process and manage to tear round indoor and out like a Usain Bolt.

It gets right up my nose when u hear guys harping on about joe blogs coming in early and destroying the deliverys then go and do it themselves on a saturday .Its like when manager comes round and says there will be lapsing ,i personally tell him i havent got time and im not doing it ,same guys go running in office well im not doing lapsing if hes not doing it istead of telling DO they havent got time

What I find most annoying is the higher level of missorts... basically any old pigeon hole or bag will do as long as the mail is cleared.

However, I am also guilty as relates to coming in relatively* early. Though I am very flexible, I have just about had enough of trying to get people to do the right things. I just try and go with the flow (up to a point) these days - having to work with many different posties and many different rounds is enough hassle without trying to take people on.

If I know (not always) the round I am on and my partner, I just ask what time they might likely come in and we take it from there. Of course, I can still be changed if there is an absence and possible no driver for a particular round.

were finishing at 4pm -4.30pm rural deliverys some are 6-7hrs long no wonder they call us the YES OFFICE

lots of guys coming in early , lots of running about but for me its the same as always sats are heavy and i come in on time finish on time no difference to me....

I go in at the start time (as I always do), I usually arrive back at the office just before my finish time........as for other people, they can do what they want, nothing to do with me

You're right clash. Some moan about how little time they have and yet can finish quicker than a flash when an early afternoon duty is up for grabs on overtime - ghost is not entirely dead yet but it is very very infrequent nowadays. Some days people are coming in an hour and a half early on ordinary days let alone Saturdays and then bitch about being sent out when they finish early

Mind you who do you blame, in the old days everyone started at 5 and finished at 1 or earlier these days it's a wonder who knows when their start time is.

Saturday's have recently been really light. Even if I'm on the missort run I'm usually done by 11. If I'm not on it I'll do my delivery from 7-745 and get done even earlier.
