ROYAL Mail is making some changes to the way it delivers mail in the Petworth area.


From this week postmen and women will use new delivery methods and adopt revised delivery routes in a bid to keep up with the changing world of communication where fewer letters are being posted, but postmen are delivering more larger items.

Every address in Petworth will get notification of the changes.

Royal Mail will continue to deliver in the morning and for a longer period during the day, and some people will continue to get their mail by lunchtime.

Delivery times will depend on where people live on the new delivery route and could be earlier than current delivery times.

A spokesman said: “These changes will require a period of adjustment for staff. But we will be doing everything possible to maintain a high level of service and thank customers for their understanding. The changes will still mean a local and experienced postie delivering in Petworth.”
