Testing walks post revision
Could someone please tell me, are there any guidelines management must follow when testing failing walks post revision?

I expect there will be. I know you're entitled to have a Rep with you, which I would recommend, should keep boss in check, and also if boss starts saying you're doing this of that wrong, the Rep can tell him otherwise if incorrect.
They'll test on easy day. But you probably knew that. It'll be the only time they're 'available'.

If they are aligning workload to daily hours and the workload is as per the model week there should be little if any time saved anyway.

Something they really shy away from(Reps are lucky if they get release for PIR)-a management tactic so that that the Rep has no release time to get to the bottom of problems,
that could involve replacement of hours.
They have their hours out of the office(management),through whatever crooked means, say they won't look at outdoor work until the indoor is sorted.
Blame staff's performance as the problem, prolong the agony for months, end up down the IR.
And still make it awkward to persue issues.

Re: Testing walks post revision
With the amount of managers being moved onto delivery planning, walk testing should be insisted upon by CWU.
Greene wants deliveries sorted out prior to privatisation end of Q3 of this financial year, I am asuming it is cost base that she is worried about rather than implementing revisions thst actually work.
If a walk is failing report it, document it and maintain an audit trail as evidence.

HQ have insisted on a lot of things-the company just dose'nt want to know(backed by the goverment and regulator)
I'm afraid we are the ones who have become weaker as a force, too many selfish people, although a nastier side has been developed by RM over the years.
It's all about costs-always has been since we became a profit based company.
Greene dose'nt care about who is harrassed or joe bloggs's delivery is too long, she is totally ingorant of what any of us do in any function.
Yes good idea to document failing delivery but performance is what they always throw back at you and
the argument goes on and on and on------

That would impress me but for one thing. I have to wonder WHY the boss is testing it on their own? Possibility it will 'definitely work'?sickofthejob wrote:Had a manager go out today testing an HCT walk on his own!!!

Re: Testing walks post revision
Below has been taken from the six step process.
Phase 6
Is the revision review process, it is imperative that any problems with walking duties are “logged” on a daily basis and you use your review meetings to implement any changes needed. Normally a revision takes about 2 weeks to “bed in” but you can normally see any glaring errors within the 1st week of a revision. Ensure that any tweaks that need to be done are done and if you need to follow the Industrial Relations Framework process to ensure problems don’t just go round in circles, with results in members getting more and more frustrated with problems on their walks not being fixed.
Ensure members have the opportunity to have 1-2-1’s with a rep present to discuss any issues with their walk. Again, ensure that the information in the Geo-route system complies with the walk as well as ensuring the A+ system is reviewed on a regular basis to ensure it is kept up to date.
Although the phase 4 sign off should state the date for the weekly, monthly and finel reviews.
I have attached the six step PDF file.
