Paying back money owed

I left Royal Mail just over a month ago, they kept paying me, I kept ringing my old office telling them I'm still being payed, they kept telling me it was sorted, finally I rang HR and then they stopped. The money they payed me was put to one side, so no real problem paying it back, can they claim the full amount before stoppages then demand, I claim it back from HMRC, and the pension fund, or can I just pay back what they payed me and tell them to get the rest back from those organisations they payed it to. I don't see as I should have to spend my time rectifying there mistakes.

This happened to me as well on leaving. You will only have to pay back the amount they paid you. It is up to them to claim bak tax, ni, union subs etc....

You call call hr and can pay the overpayment over the phone with a card.

Thank You very much, has put my mind at rest, will ring them again on tuesday to sort out the overpayment. Off topic but how do i get the EX royal mail bit under my name.

It is obviously a common mistake they make!

I was the same as you, I just wanted to get it all paid back as quick as possible and cut RM out of my life! 2 months later I'm still getting the bloody courier and CPU communications!

select it in your "User Control Panel" - this link should take any member to their own ranking page - just select the correct one. Actually would be grateful if everyone could do it - it makes tailoring replies to posts easier for other members as you can make an estimation of the level of working knowledge and base their reply on it.

Cheer TBT but i have joined that group but it always defaults to registered users. I must be doing something wrong.
