Agreed hours from part time to fulltime policy

Hi I know I read recently that if you are part time on say 20 hrs and you have been doing fulltime hours then after 2yrs you are made up to fulltime 39hrs is this the case or have I read it wrong as someone as asked me at our office

It is in the job security agreement. This has still not been rolled out. Now a word of caution here that the hours you work over your contracted hours must be against your duty and not overtime against a different duty. PSP the pay system does not record what work you do above your contracted hours. However if you are on a 20 hour contract but you work 30 hours almost every day to finish your own duty then you will once the agreement is rolled out be offered a 30 hour contract. Or if you do full time hours on a weekly basis to finish your own duty be offered a 39 hour contract.

What about a 32hr contract doing a 39 to 47 hr week every week on the same job? I've been on this delivery for nearly 4 years and still haven't signed for it! It's still classed as vacant!

Just as a matter of interest lets just say you have employee A on a 30 hour contract working 39 hours a week on a duty and employee B working 30 hours on a duty that doesn't require overtime now lets transpose employee A and B and interchange the days they work over a fortnight on each duty and you won't get a 39 hour contract. Is there a time limit on how long you have to carry out the duty in order to be given an extended contract and will that contract be permanent and if there is a time limit what's to stop managers swapping people about so that there is never a contract available because the time element is never met.
