Crime check ?

I know at an interview RM check if you have a crimanal record. But what would happen if they took on you on and then you got done for something , unrellated to RM? EG Caught in possesion and got a suspended sentence. Could RM sack you ? PS Not me , just asking .

Royal Mail's code of conduct deals with criminal conduct committed outside the workplace. It says that criminal actions should not be treated as an automatic reason for disciplinary action or dismissal unless the offence is relevant to the convicted employee's duties. The code makes clear that the key considerations are whether or not the conviction makes him or her an unsuitable colleague in the eyes of other employees or brings the business into disrepute. The code also requires employees to inform their manager if they are charged with, or summonsed to appear in court in relation to, a criminal offence (with the exception of minor road traffic violations).

Suspended sentence for caught in possession?? Must have been a lot if we're talking drugs. If it's a large quantity of drugs, or a firearm or weapon I reeckon you'd be out the door.

Also working for rm is a notifiable occupation so if a arrested then police may notify rm when charged or convicted depending on the offence
