I would like to know if it's easy to get a transfer to another postie job? in another part of the country?
Has anyone had experience of this? Am I right in assuming that I just put in a request then wait for a position to appear?
Obviously this could take ages.

As a rule we do advise you to contact the office/s you want to go to directly,the actual transfer process although updated is a bit of a mare.

It would seem easier for a part-timer to transfer, or a full-timer prepared to accept a drop in hours.deanyboy wrote:Hello

Obviously there needs to be vacancies in the DO you want to transfer to.
If you just put in a request and wait, my guess is nothing will happen.
You need to be proactive. Try and enlist the help of the union, both in your area and the area you want to move to and any manager who will listen.
HR might be of some use as well.
