Claiming back for phone calls and texts

Post by eastie »

Is there a form for claiming back expenses for your mobile on P/L ?
I must waste about £2 per week ringing my driver and dont see why I should
I know a lot of mobiles have free texts but I am PAY AS YOU GO
We are in a s**t reception area and when I give my driver 2 rings for my next P/L bag it sometimes goes straight to his answerphone and I get charged 20p.
I want to do it to make a point to the DOM

Just tell him you are not prepared to use your credit on RMs behalf/tell him you can no longer afford the expense of a phone/the delivery needs reorganising to preclude the use of the mobile phone scenario and unless he reoganises then the duty is unworkable as a P&L delivery. Just as a matter of interest why would you start that in the first place.

If you mean about using mobiles its because my driver has a loop as well as me plus he has parcels to deliver as well and there is no way of him knowing when I am going to be finished compared to him so I prank him when I am nearly done for him to give me my next bag.
How else is he going to know you are finished

all pdas have the functionality to call your office, the emergency services and breakdown, just ask your dom to get the proper training to use your pda, then you can relay the messages via your office as they can call out to your pda or even send a txt to it from the office

you don't need to call your driver as the loops have been planned to perfection by knowledgable planners and an infallible bit of software.

Just stand and wait.

How the feck RM (and the feckin CWU) decided that all this inevitable dead time in PandL, one postie waiting for the other to finish, is a step forward is beyond me.

As are many many other aspects of PandL. None of which were listened to...but all those reasons the posties were resistant to PandL have been proven to be correct.

Seriously, don't make it easy for them to screw hrs or jobs away.

I agree with Postman, if they can't deliver the bags on time then it's their problem plus, we shouldn't be waiting for bags anymore, they should either be in the pouch boxes or in you should be in P&L and then your driver shouldn't be pissing off for hours and leaving you.

Whatever! It's not your problem! If he isn't there when you've finished your loop - just wait til he gets back and if you can't complete then take it back - they'll soon address the problem in one way or another. The PDA will contact your office with its phone function, if anyone bothers to answer in a timely manner, then they have to phone your driver, then he has to come for you.................however it's not that difficult to hazard an educated guess what time you are going to complete a loop so you just say to the driver - be back in 35 minutes, 25 minutes, 30 minutes etc better for him to be hanging around for a couple of minutes in the van is it not?

If you are having to phone each other on park and loop then there is something seriously wrong, PL can work but you have to radically alter it so that you both return to a parked van at the same time as each other. This will inevitably mean that what the management have suggested needs to be thrown out the window, arrange the loops so that they meet up rather the DOM's ideas which have no basis in reality.

If the walkers loop is supposed to be longer than the drivers loop how would there be a parked van at the end of the loop if the driver is off doing packets, schools and colleges etc which are to be done within the loop , plus most driver and walker loops dont end up at the same place anyway especially if you only have houses on one side of the road.
It was a perfectly OK HCT walk and was changed into an unmanagable P/L walk
How can a straight road be made into a loop??

Because the driver therefore finishes first. :arrrghhh

Here's an idea. Trying reading the threads you've asked the same questions over and over again on. You'll find they've already been answered. :arrrghhh

But the driver may finish 1st but has to deliver to colleges and schools and do parcels afterwards.plus his loops are nowhere near mine and he isnt a clairvoyant as to when I finish :cuppa
It might be OK for your round Bigcol but not all rounds are the same and are manageable . We dont all have Moyas fantasy loops that start at the same point and finish at the van , my driver drops my bag off and drives a mile away to do his loop and parcels and yes I know it doesnt work but the DOM and planners at the time were not interested when we said it wouldnt work and yes we cut off most days but wasting time standing in the rain between bags does piss you off after a while

FFS how many times do you need telling - TELL THE DRIVER WHEN YOU ARE GOING TO FINISH YOUR LOOP AND TO BE BACK BY THEN - it's quite obvious you don't want a P&L duty so tell the DOM you aren't comfortable with it and stop keep repeating the same drivel.
