Who to address resignation letter too

A fellow newbie who started a little but before me is handing in their resignation on Monday. They asked me who I thought they should send it too. I said DO manager and cc in HR department in Sheffield.

I said if they really can't be bothers with that then just the DOM would do.

Have I told them the right thing? They were too scared to ask someone who has been there longer incase the word got to managers.

My advice was ok then. The person is nervous of the aftermath of the resignation. I said they are probably used to it and won't bat n eyelid to a newbie doing it. I will probably be right behind them if any of the jobs I am applying for come off!

who gives a flying **** what the DIM thinks, it's none of his business why you have left the job. whats the worse he can do, put them on the crappiest walk there is? if so just go sick for the week

give him the resignation on the Monday, leave on the Saturday whilst flicking the V's towards him and then get on with life :)
