walk testing

up and down the country, we constantly hear about revisions failing, walks becoming too long,fatigue becoming an issue, surely if we get these walks tested, using the agreed tools, ie, trolleys, not flicking through the bundle whilst walking, doing the job to the letter(no pun intended) of the royal mail guidelines , then surely we can prove the walks are far too long, what do others think???

if a revision is failing and certain people have got bonuses on the basis of "savings" shouldnt there be an investigation.

After weeks of moaning my walk was tested by 2 dickheads who where both coming in early the double prep man by 30 mins and the part timer was coming in round about 0530 for an 0730 start mon-tues and 0800 the rest of the week bar Saturday,they never used trollies,didn't take the 1/6 D2D's and they still went over by 30 mins on Weds,Thurs and Friday.The manager said it was doable,so I have "little chats" about my performance issue's,we are our own worst enemy

When we had the contract to collect/deliver the BBC mail at White City and W1 planning values were set for each element of work both indoor and outdoor. Where there were no RM databank values for Elements/Tasks RM Industrial Engineers timed and agreed them, this included all of the outdoor workload with walks each being timed/rated twice.

Seems to me that rather than progress with more accurate data the business has gone backwards.

you should test your own walk, not dickheads, that way you can argue it is too long!!!

They put me on another walk for a week,to see if I had "performance issues" with that one.
