9 hour day?

Was told by Dom today, either work a 9 hour day on Xmas eve or flex a duty 3 days next week, because the mail will be down. Can this shower sink any lower.? Blackmail now. Not to mention d2d next week, with only 3 days to complete. Will be doing the official 6th a day only, as for the ones that won't get done? Not my fecking problem.

What "official" 6th a day would that be?
The agreement says special arrangements should be put in place to ensure all D2D are delivered to spec.
There is no agreement that sanctions wilful delay.

Not wilful delay. It is royal mails responsibility to ensure there is enough time in the working week to complete d2d.

Not wilful delay. It is royal mails responsibility to ensure there is enough time in the working week to complete d2d.

d2d is live mail and can't be left. I wouldn't be surprised to see a thread started by you soon looking for help with a wilful delay charge

You should have a local agreement that covers Bank Holiday contingency arrangements for D2D.
It goes something like this...
If you only have 4 days to do them you do 25% per day and if you don't want to work over your time...you cut off.
It's quite simple really.

Exactly, won't be working over, under any circumstances. No local agreement here either.

What you meant and most of us agree is that you will not be doing OT to do them.
Others on here were telling you that you can't ignore them that would be wilful delay and you rebuked their advise.

Just take them, ram your fitting full of them,it just takes longer to prep, if you have three days to deliver them then so be it, just cut off ffs ,why is it that most posties whine about doing d2d? its part of the job, we get paid for it, so WHAT is the problem? More indoor work , equals less outdoor work.Eight hours a day that's all you have to do.No more no less.

When I go back after Christmas, I will do what I can with regard to unsolicited junk mail.
If I can foist it all on my customers, I will, grudgingly.
If I cannot due to time/high volume of mail, I will leave some for the manager to worry about.
I work to my time, take my breaks, never give a minute of my own time to a firm that treats us so badly.
It's up to them to make sure my job is achievable in the time I'm paid, and if they fail, well...........
