Missing Packet????

I have a packet that was despatched (email confirmation) on 14/12/12 which was second class so should have been with me by last Wednesday latest (3 working days). If it turns up tmrw that will be 6 working days it's taken to get to me, and that's IF it turns up. What could have happened to it? Thinking next time I will go with a different delivery option, not RM. Is there a backlog in the system somewhere?

I dare say that you will get it before Xmas as you still have two deliveries left before the big day as most MC's and DO's will want to clear everything away.

gotta be honest rm is the best option if ive had to wait for a parcel its usually because the seller hasnt sent it, they might say they have or even marked it as dispatched havnt for lots of commercial reasons. i always try to specify royal mail as the carrier because of reliability ,in the past 12 months experienced problems first hand with hermes and yodel witnessed the home delivery network at work also ups. and over the past few weeks had to help the odd punter trying to work out how to contact city link, their form left has no contact number no collection/depot address only a web site. and as far as rm goes they are only as good as your postie

I ordered a map online Monday evening (17th). It arrived on Thursday with 76p postage. Don't see how anyone can complain about that.

Haha. Used to do xmas packet sorting at a hub. ure prob right. well f****d. sent 2nd class cause it was free, I work for RM thus cannot afford SD!!!! Think I actually ordered it on 11th Dec. Was in stock shoulda been despatched same day but NO. Now it's stuck in some MC with pissed off posties (incl me) having to process it. About time Moya got her act together, at a time when peeps need a decent postal service they don't get it cause they expect peeps to work themselves into the ground without paying out for extras to come to help. Same as in my DO. Why should I be expected to overrun 4 hours every day till christmas, not get my day off next week, have to work xmas eve and wait a year for my leui day. Sucks big style. Rant over.

Today we got absolutely smashed with packets and mail at our SPDO. There were packets all over the workplace floor and nowhere to walk. Looking at the dates on the mail 1st and 2 nd class, many were posted on 17th Monday, and we are posting them on 21st. We received a later delivery of packets and mail, yet to be sorted, and these will go tomorrow. So much for putting the customer first, when on Tuesday 18th we had an amount of work that barely covered our contracted hours. This business is being managed by a bunch of poor apprentices.
