Speaking to one of these Hermes parcel delivery firm drivers (the ones that fill their cars up and deliver items for 50p each)
He told me he usually has 100 items a day to deliver and they are dropped off at his house daily.
Yesterday the lorry turned up with 500 ITEMS for him to deliver that day.
He refused to take for than his usual 100 items and his manager threw a wobbly..............does it sound familiar
Funny but i had a Hermes guy pull up in a Ford Focus whilst i was on delivery. He had been driving up and down the road for around 5 mins. He was flustered and asked if i could tell him where No 40 was, the road only goes up to 36
His car was totally stuffed with parcels, right to the roof . Anyway i looked at the parcel and he was in the total WRONG road I will admit to putting him right, (yeah i know) as its christmas after all but iam not sure how many parcels he'd had already delivered to the wrong road but he did not look happy when i told him.
Rows of houses all bearing down on me........I can feel their blue hands touching me.......All these things in all positions.........All these things will one day take control..........
I regularly see one of those guys in his packet-filled hatchback but the past few days I've seen him sorting his packets on the pavement Not the most professional looking outfit.
As with many of these companies they give an absolute diddly squat about their delivery personel - for every one that kicks up a stink or refuses to deliver 100's of items per day, there are 10 more guys behind waiting to take their job. - all working for peanuts.
hermes are the pits they have to deliver the packet to get paid , i just had a mare with them, ordered a present for my missus it was overdue the seller provided a tracking number which when i checked said delivered to porch . Got in touch with seller who chased hermes next day seller said it seems the packet was left by your side door behind the green wheelie bin under a bush guess what COME TO THAT I HAVE NO BUSHES EITHER. relayed this back to the seller who relayed this back to hermes. the next day the seller said that hermes said we dont actually know where your item is, seller sent replacement and a claim form the next day
I keep getting blamed for Hermes deliveries. One lady had a right go at me, was on the Royal Mail phone line for 25 mins complaining about a parcel left on her doorstep. I pointed out it wasn't anything to do with Royal Mail after looking at the parcel.... She quickly backtracked and tried to make out she was asking for their phone number from me.
Then another person tried to give me back a parcel that had been dumped on the doorstep and was for the wrong address... If they hadn't have been so rude about it I might have taken it, but sod it. They had a quick backtrack too.
Another parcel I did redeliver for them that a Hermes courier had delivered wrong... Making sure that both parties knew exactly who was in the wrong and that it was Royal Mail putting it right.

Way of this country more than anything.
too right, well said, look at the big picture, whats happening to them to day could be us tomorrow. :dcfo
Does anyone ever see these cowboys/girls delivering in Royal Mail clothing - an unmarked van with no-one I recognise as being a member of staff locally was delivering in the week round here? Impersonating a postman - getting all the tips and we get all the blame>

I end up having to do that every day depending on who has packed the bags/van.

I'm sure they slept soundly that night.
