Dead cashcard in side leg pocket.

Two weeks after replacing my cash card which just stopped working (rejected by cash machines etc) the new one has stopped working in the same manor. I can only attribute this to some kind of static damage from carrying it in the left leg pocket near the knee of my new style trousers. Has this happened to anyone else?

no, but could be the friction from walking at 4mph for 5 hours!

I've had the same problem only because I've forgotten that I've left my bank cards in that pocket then proceeded to put them through the washing machine followed by the tumble dryer

Do you carry a PDA and if so is your cash card near it

If you carry a PDA in your left leg pocket your trousers will end up around your ankles....

I do carry a pda but they are not near each other. I now carry my [new] card in my shirt pocket and all is well.
