Also the managers are earning more than both us and the cleaners, surely that's wrong.

The basic for a Romec cleaner outside London ranges from around £250-£280pw.
As far as i'm aware they are the lowest paid of all CWU represented grades across Royal Mail.

All joking aside our cleaner (working nights 40hr week) takes home £100 a week less than a postie!!! how can this be right, they deserve all the support they can get this Friday.

having seen the state of the heads after we all went out for a curry the other week i would argue that hey probably don't get paid enough.
My colleagues show them very little respect - coffee spilt all over the place and the phrase "f**k it leave it for the cleaner" was used.
Not sure what their schedules are like in smaller offices, do they clean several in the area?) but ours is often told to f-off by some because he arrives just as we are tieing/bagging up and apparently he's just getting in the way.
He seamed a little taken aback when I thanked him for emptying my bin.
that said i have been watching a cobweb gathering dust for the last 3 months!

Having worked (briefly) as a cleaner i know it is a thankless task, people always complain that your in the way, not doing a good enough job and they certainly aren't noticed when doing a good job.

at least we get an occasional thankyou, smile or xmas tip just for doing our jobs. what do they get?

The cleaners at my office are on more then us if you take into account how much work they actually do during the day. Never seen people feck about so much and earn a fortune selling the staff food at break time. No they won't be striking
