Just looking at duties will tell us that they're not going to work, the planners are then ones who are making all the mistakes (usually along with management) so why should we help them fix the problems that they're creating??

If the planners had listened to us then they wouldn't have messed up the duties so badly which even a blind man on a galloping horse could see............we are the experts, not the planners and most especially not Pegasus/Geo route and not the savings drive from head office.

Why and how come 4-30hrs!
I Wrote-During Covid-Which is still relevant now
It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

logic, if GEO Route works why do they your need input. By reading that information given, it implies that GEO Route does not work. If GEO Route is not fit for purpose then why use it. There is no trust left, on both sides, till that is restored no matter how many meetings, polices, agreements and anything else you care to do, things will not be resolved. Trust, respect and equal pay. :dcfo

Georoute only works if the information it is based on is correct.
Letterboxes round the back of houses, one way streets, speed restrictions, internal distances of flats, inclines, newbuilds etc.
Georoute doesn't know anything apart from what you tell it. If the A+ isn't 100% fit for purpose then neither is Georoute.
The only people who can ensure the A+ is accurate are the people who walk the streets every day.
The societies of consumption and squandering of material resources are incompatible with the idea of economic growth and a clean planet.

Its horribly written.

Poor use of language

Lots of Catchphrases and Power language.

To me it honestly looks as though they are either trying to sell a pup, or are setting you up for a fall.

However, in a way they are right these revisions will only work if the CWU and Management both respect each others views, and there in lies the problem.

CCR is right about Georoute but the planners aren't listening to what we say so the whole revision process is as much use as a chocolate fireguard................if they want this crap in the I'm inclined to let them try it and when it fails, I'll not be bailing them out.

Well it seems pretty obvious he is already concerned that there may well be problems and you are between a rock and a hard place. Add input - it goes wrong - you are to blame, don't add input - it goes wrong you are to blame, institute the changes and it doesn't work - your performance won't be good enough and guess who's to blame? Now here's a conundrum for you - guess who won't be to blame?

We have been getting asked to go with the planner to re plan our failed revision using a little man walking around the route on a computer. This did not happen on the first revision.
The planner asked me to tell him of any problems as I watched the screen. I came up with some things but I had to try to remember and visualize each delivery point. Now when I go out to do a delivery I don`t try nor do I want to remember any details about a route, I just want to get on with it and go home at the end of the day. This is just a way of making money for me, I have absolutely no interest whether a particular house has some steps or what the distance to each door is. In other words Its not our job to tell the planners information for their pet programme. They also asked me to estimate distances to doors, I don`t "do" estimates if I want to know the length of something I will measure it. They seem to be attempting to get the information that they need "on the cheap" by just asking the posty vague questions. If the posty doesn't remember some aspect (for instance I forgot to tell him that about 30% of the walk has delivery points around the side) then they will get it wrong again.

The real issue as to why these revisions all fail to some extent is because they plan for workloads on the lightest day to take you right up to your finish time. This means other days with more workload we cannot finish in time and therefor many cut off.
Until they change their attitude to allow us to finish early some days (as in the past) this new system will never work. They think they can treat this job like a factory job but in reality every day is different and there needs to be a good amount of flexibility built in.(as in the past).
