Coming to the end of my 3 month contract

Hi everyone,

My fixed term contract is up at the end of the month and I still don't know whether I've been kept on. I've asked my manager and he advised that it all depneds whether this other depot has any vacancies. I've spotted a vacancy at another depot in my area, can I asked to be considered for this? This is for another 3 month contract.

I'm really enjoying being a postman and will be gutted if I don't get kept on.

Any advice anyone has is appreciated.

I did this last spring. I started at Xmas on Angard, transferred over to RM in Jan and in march saw a vacancy at my local office (10 miles closer to home). I spoke to my DOM about it and it all happened smoothly. Now I cycle to work for 6 mins not drive in traffic for 40 mins.
You need to be transferring on the same terms though, and most DOMs will find a good reason not to take anyone with a bad sickness record.

tell your manager to trasfer to another do , my contract exp on aug i havent recive new one still working without contract when ever i ask my manager about my contract he always say i will sort it out.

hi theres a few people at my office on 3 month contracts.they just get renewed.but if they dont need you at the depot,ask your manager to speak to the other depot.if nothing happens go see the dom at the office were the vacancy is or ring him/her.shouldnt be problem but i would get in there quick
