Woke up this morning and my phone started going mad with text messages. They were saying there
has been no power in Watford sorting office since 22.00 monday night, do not come to work until 8.00
this morning. Got to work and still no power. Now am sitting at home until 10.30 until they can figure
out what is wrong.
What is it about things going wrong as soon as christmas pressure starts
Power failure at Watford Delivery Office (postcodes WD4,5, 17,18,19, 24 and 25)
A complete loss of electrical power has affected this office overnight and continues at this time. Deliveries to the area are unfortunately expected to be significantly impacted due to delays in the sorting process. The enquiry office is also closed at present. We will obviously make efforts to recover from the situation when power is restored and will add fresh information to our Service Update as it becomes available.

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been. My BFF Clash The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.
Blimey at least someone does it right - Huddersfield had partial power and no heating yesterday - we carried on.
Although found out it wasn't a Royal Mail problem, the council workers had damaged something and taken power out to a lot of the surrounding buildings as well.

Office was up and running at 10.30 in the end. They have had to bring generators in. Spoke to an electrician, someone had
not turned the settings from summertime to wintertime.. and something overloaded!!
Gonna have a bad day tomorrow as all todays work is sitting in the frame still. All we did today was some IPS and deliver
tracked and specials!!
