I hear rumours and talk of RM being Privatised in 2013, is this true? or just a rumour?

Also, If we do get privatised what does it mean for our jobs? would being in the union help safe guard our job?

I can't see them selling it very cheap, and I can't see many people actually wanting to buy it. Richard Branston was said to be interested once but that's gone a bit quiet now.

It will most likely be sold as an IPO.
Selling lots of tiny pieces to the masses is a lot easier than trying to sell one big piece to the bearded one.

We we told in our induction yesterday by the trainer that privatisation would take place in 2013. But then we were also told that Moya had privatised the Canadian mail and made a complete success of it the Canada post hasn't even been privatised yet

something in the telegraph the other week, whatever happens expect conditions to get worse, any company would love to get rid of paid meal relief, holday and sick pay. Someone in royal mail got a nice bonus for allowing dsa in, and making cycle helmets compulsory. I would prepare for it, Tnt do deliveries in London, postal rates will go up as well.

The TNT {post workers} get paid £7.18 an hour in London in other area's they are looking close to the minimum wage.
