Last thursday One bloke opened up his window upstairs and shouted a mouthful of vulgar profane words. asking what time you call this, why is it so late etc? I told him 'i dont deliver your mail, i deliver the queen's mail on behalf of Royal Mail. I am not a effing postman, I am delivering by royal appointment. Her Majesty will not be amused by your language.'

That was like a red rag to a bull. The man was enraged letting off a torrent of abuse. Calling me (and Her Majesty) every insult in the book. He was clearly not a monarchist! He thought i was trying to be clever by bringing up the queen. The way the man was blowing his top i thought (and hoped) he was going to fall out of his upstairs window!
Someone like that should not rinse his mouth out with soap he should instead put his head down the loo and flush it. I told him a few choice words of my own, gave him the sign of peace, and said 'Her Majesty sends her regards!'

Yea, I get the impression that for some reason we are not the most popular people on the planet. Can't really understand why when we are providing a service (although I suppose some may disagree) I have people on my round that when you knock the door with a recorded or special look at you as if you have landed from Mars, some are most put out and huffily sign the slip!

I haven't been in the job that long, but i do get the impression that some people think your just their personal messenger!? and don't seem to realize you have 500+ other houses to get round!
