Dog Bites etc..

This weeks news about DOG BITES and they say you cannot sue the owner if you get bitten on their property...

If true..how come a burglar as i understand it ...can sue if they get injured in doing their crime on your property...?

Can anyone clarify this point....?

You can sue for compensation. They can't be prosecuted.

The burglar can sue a home-owner if they use unreasonable force to defend themselves or had intentions of harming the intruder and had no regard for the trespassers safety, but as I understand it they cannot sue a householder if during the break in they hurt themselves on something that the householder may be liable for if they had entered as a visitor.
