shorts banned

This a.m we have been told we are not aloud to where shorts as it is a health and safety risk. Because it is to cold what a joke, at 6 a.m this morning. on the drive in to work it was recording 9.5c in my car hardly cold imo.

I have worn shorts throughout the past two winters including December 2010 when temperatures dropped to minus 15c.
My fingers ears and nose feel the cold but my knees have never bothered me. Its a hell of a lot better than walking around in wet trousers or lumps of ice clinging to the bottom of your trousers.

My dim last year told me to start wearing trousers around november time, I told him to get lost, wore my shorts until Xmas Eve and started wearing them again in February.

bare legs dry so much faster than wet trousers, yes its cold when you first go out, but once you start moving you soon heat up, I also wear short sleeved shirts and a blue sleeveless body warmer as I find wearing RM jackets etc make my arms sweat too much so I would rather go without.

personal choice as long as you are wearing RM uniform, I dare say I could get away with a skirt if we still had them ;)

We do but they are classed as indoor although one of our's wears it on delivery.

I ordered the culottes because I didn't want the shorts (they were too, erm, short IMO) but they just looked like my trousers had had an argument with my ankles and I looked even more of a kn*b in my uniform than I usually did

I have worn shorts all year round for at least 6 years, albeit I work on the south Coast
Your legs dont get cold when you are walking anyway.
People laugh in winter but so what. when it rains its better to have shorts because trousers get wet and chafe especially when the water runs off the coat and legs dry quickly anyway.
I also only ever wear short sleeved shirts as well but I get problems when trying to order 3 shirts every 6 months and 2 pairs of shorts a year.
Even when I tell the Uniform Dept that I dont use long sleeved shirts or trousers and must save RM money they still wont give me extra .
My DOM ends up ordering them for someone else and then give them to me.
Maybe its just me and I don't feel the cold
