Why is there so many Royal Mail uniforms and stuff on Ebay?

Just been on the site a few minutes ago...totally surprised and shocked to see such a huge number of Royal Mail boots,shoes,jackets,ties,trousers,caps,hats,etc,etc (and even bags recently) all for sale to bidders from all over the world!
Surely there must be a security issue here?
I was always under the impression that if anyone left Royal Mail they must hand in all their old uniforms!
I have seen even bikes on this website for sale!
And if anyone who is currently employed by Royal Mail is found to be selling uniform and the like on this website could they face disciplinary action from the company?
And the obvious other questions are ....do Royal Mail monitor these type of websites and even keep a trace on uniforms not returned to the company by employees who have left or are leavings?
Just seems bizarre to me....

When i was wrongfully dismissed they didn't ask for my uniform back.

Taking it further once my holiday has correctly been reinstated

My old boss told me not to wear the blue rm fleece when they rolled out the new red ones. I asked why as it was practically brand new, he said because they were obsolete and it may fall into the wrong hands, security issue etc etc. so the next day I bagged up 2 or 3 old smelly rm shirts and left them on his desk. He asked what he was to do with them, I said I don't care, just making sure they don't fall into the wrong hands.

I continued, until my eventual demise, to wear the blue jacket, which I still have along with a fresh new red one.

You can sell obsolete uniform and most of that looks to be old stock stuff.
The Harrington alone is worth £16 but I won't be bidding on it.....

i might have to keep my eye out on ebay for some trousers, i've placed order for some new ones with manager 3 times but they never show up! this way might get some
