I always remember the line in the 2010 Agreement about "1 in 4 Saturdays" off for those who want them. Was this a binding condition? Or just an aspiration? Currently in my office we are going through a re-pick of duties and the limited number of duties with 1 in 4 Saturdays off have virtually all gone. Mostly taken by people who apparently voted against a larger number of such duties just a few months ago. (Now they all realise how great they are).
Can anything be done? Is someone entitled to go and see the DOM and ask for their increased number of Saturdays off in line with the agreement?

How come your office agreed to a revision where there are only a certain amount of 1 in 4 duties?

We had two options; More 1 in 4 sats off with fewer full-time jobs. Or more 5 day duties with about 5 more full-time duties. Tbh, at the time I think it was more that people were suspicious of new shift patterns, and thought it would mean much later finishes, with much longer deliveries. They stuck with the devil they knew.

We've been told only option on offer is the current rotating day off option. We're in the south-east area which went to disagreement and this was one of the reasons.
However i now hear that the disagreement has been withdrawn and we're now back to co-operating in the revision. Anybody able to enlighten us as to whether any concessions have been made

Union. So we've heard on the grapevine. Which is why i'm asking if anybody knows anything concrete as our DOM is keen to move things on. Surprise, surprise

week two Tues, Weds
Week three Thursday
Week four Friday, sat off
We were one of the first to go through the revision and the DOM has confessed that they wouldn't offer it again. His caring reason was that people were nackered by the
time they were off. Nothing to do with the nightmare of trying to get people in when others go sick.
I think that managers find it hard to get cover, that is why they are against the 9 day fortnight.
My point of view is that the extra days off are great but the walks are B***ards and people really do struggle. Also saturday is hard as you finish after 2.00pm so football etc is a no go.
It's been 18 months since the revison apart from a couple of people being medically retired. Each day loops are given to the casuals and they even bring work back, All people want is a fair chance to do thier walks.
The planners must amit that they are human and got it wrong. PS sorry for the spelling

We're still 1 in 6, I regularly don't finish on a Saturday until 3.30pm. I used to enjoy following my local football team. Due to later and later starts I began to miss the away games, now it has got to the stage I don't even get to home games. But, I thought once we go to 1 in 4 Saturdays i'll get at least the occasional game.
