659 revisions so far

Post by POSTMAN »

Just thought i'd let you know...

Almost half of our business’s delivery offices – 659 – are now fully modernised. There are many more to modernise if we are to deliver the savings we need to make across our business as mail continues to decline....

PS:Thought savings weren't the main aim of said revisions? ;liar
I Wrote-During Covid-Which is still relevant now
It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.
My BFF Clash
The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

It's a big fail.

2 and a half years in from the original 3 year plan, less than half done and with Christmas on the horizon not much scope to get any but the truly suicidal implemented, many, many not working..far more than either side will admit, many that are working using less than modern practices, many members and even managers unhappy for genuine and not so genuine reasons, earnings down or relatively neutral after 3 years, weight off the shoulder not happening, cars still being used, performance bullying rife,absorption/lapsing still being used as a savings tool,1 in 4 saturdays and better attendances patchy at best, ridiculous EP targets being set by area and BT2010 being completely ignored when it suits,management-employee relationships absolutely terrible again and employee engagement with the modernisation plan non-existent....

I would just like to applaud the management team on a job well done.
Nobody does it quite like RM management do,they are in a class of their own.
It's been a blast. :cuppa

it would seem, that park and loop was a savings revision, not a help to take weight off the shoulder, typical royal mail, the ideas that come from the top fail to materialise at the bottom end of management, cwu very quite on b&h, and this from a staunch union supporter!!!!

Well it may well have been the deal of the century but it certainly wasn't the agreement of the century and that IS for sure. I don't know if it's my arithmetic but the completed revisions seem to be going down

Our live date has been put back again, to early November! Can't see it coming in before Christmas !
Planner made all but five walks full time; the five Part time walks planned at 37 hours. However, financial team have said that would cost too much money! :arrrghhh

I cannot see how it has been about saving money, all the vans and fuelling and servicing them, all the pda's etc..
The fact is that after the revisions, RM will keep going back to behaving they way they have been for the past years, looking to squeeze every drop out of the workforce.
I think it more likely that the changes are about making RM look as attractive as possible and viable for privatisation.

we are 5 months in and to anyone just starting or still to start there revision here is What to expect.first few weeks anyone doing there job right and has a duty that is to big will be tested and if that test is done by managers and if Its found to be to big then the planners will say that test doesnt count because the managers arent qualified to test or make something else up.then the planners will wait for a quiet day to test you again then do and say anything to make it look workable . Then you Have months of bullying to look forward to. Dont give in why should you work late why should you skip your break and why should They make savings off you killing yourself. Finding it very hard now not to lose my temper everyday . And it wont get any better full stop . Why arent we voting for strike. Stress stress stress lies bullying and bollocks Thats how we Havent modernised.

Because Billy & Moya just got married, and we're still in the honeymoon period.
