CWU Unilateral Stage 2 Disagreement KA/DG:Update
To
RM DSM KA
RM DSM DG
Heads of Disagreement.
(1) RM Scotland have failed to apply BT2010 during revision activity in setting indoor performance in KA/DG and determining start times.
(2) RM Scotland are failing to apply BT2010 in weekly resource meetings to discuss indoor performance in KA/DG.
(1) RM applied a universal rate of 100bsi in setting the IWT. This has impacted on unit ability to achieve one in four Saturday's off while maintaining full time jobs. Most units fall under the national 75%/25% split. The use of 100bsi has impacted on early start times.
(2) A CWU/RM Joint Statement on 8th June 2012* describes the agreed process for establishing Indoor performance in DO's. This is a joint process between DOM and CWU Unit Rep or covering Area Rep. In the 4 out of 29 units where weekly resource meetings are held in KA/DG none have used the agreed method of establishing indoor performance. None have used the traffic forecasting tool and none have discussed lapsing.
No weekly resource meetings are held in 25 units in KA/DG.
CWU Proposal
(1)That the IWT for each unit be verified as accurate by the DOM and CWU Unit Rep or covering Area Rep as described in the joint statement*.
(2)That RM establish an agreed process for weekly resource meetings in each unit.

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

Nice to see someone's still got the balls to fight the good fightsky.
The author of that disagreement gets my vote. Maybe a few others should join in?

Re: CWU Unilateral Stage 2 Disagreement KA/DG
Maybe you could speak to management on the current position in our unit where our impending revision is very soon i'm sure its based on 100% BSI.
Also am sure area reps are more up to speed on IWT/Duty Builder/BSI etc than the local rep don't think he's had any training on these,(dosen't seem quite right
) in my opinion this should be set by trained personnel, might help in negotiations to get the best deal possible or instruct reps to non participation on revsions before its to late and with the backing of the Branch.

The whole of ME/CT done this over a year ago, even to stage 3, we even had an embargo on ALL revision activity on the grounds of 100bsi & welfare breaks, then National took over

I'll suggest it clash as our Branch is useless when it comes to supporting local reps.

If KA/DG had gone to Unilateral Stage 2 Disagreement over a year ago they would be f****d.clashcityrocker wrote:GlennoGlenno wrote:The whole of ME/CT done this over a year ago, even to stage 3, we even had an embargo on ALL revision activity on the grounds of 100bsi & welfare breaks, then National took over![]()

Now that certain other areas are experiencing issues there will be support for KA/DG nationally that might not have been there for ME/CT 12 months ago.
Sometimes it's not enough to be strong and fightsky your corner.
Sometimes you have to hope that it's actually fight night and you can at least fight on the same bill as the champion....even if you are the warm up.
good times, bad times you know I've had my share

Update
I've heard that only one DSM turned up and was accompanied by a senior manager who effectively conducted the meeting. It was clear that RM were uncomfortable in discussing. At first they didn't want a meeting and would prefer an understanding at Area level. The Rep stood his ground because it's next Friday and he's being released from duty to attend specially. The Area Rep works week on week off and covers nearly 30 units. According to 'Managers banter' It was not a happy atmosphere.

Re: CWU Unilateral Stage 2 Disagreement KA/DG:Update
For some of us BT2010 was never about the money. The strike in 2009 was about.........a job you can do at 65 without being bullied. More secure full time jobs and an end to casualisation. More time away from work. Weight off the shoulder. An end to staff subsidising the Company through private car use. No unagreed work rates. And in my neck of the woods a regional management team that paid little if any regard to the CWU.........unless forced to listen through the IR Framework. That's how an effective Union works. Collectively.
BT2010 has delivered none of the above. It expires in March 2013. What then?
