Made up to fulltime from 32 hour

Tommorrow at our office 5 part time staff (32 hour ) are being made up to fulltime.
We have had to have a repick on all our rounds fair enough.
But should we be getting a new contract as I have not received or signed anything?

how were you told you were being made up to full time

HR would have sent your DOM new contracts of employment for you to sign, in law, the employer has up to 60 days to provide these contracts (written particulars)

make sure it is a full 39 hour contract and not a fixed term full time contract though

their is a difference with job security

I think this is becoming quite common, another bollock has been dropped in the revision, all our walks are 35hrs, and they have been wondering why PT's on 30hrs aren't completing and claiming excess.

We've got 3 or 4 who will have to made up to FT, or the walks will have to be revised (again) and more PT's employed.

I am 32 hour over 5 days and have deen doing fulltime hours since P/L
(7 hours O/T)
Now at least we will be getting the full delivery suppliment rather than pro rata
Plus get a full weeks pay when on holiday rather than 4 days.
I suppose it will mean an extra £4 a week delivery suppliment= £200
plus an extra day holiday x 4 weeks =£300

That's almost the exact opposite of what happened in our office this week. Five staff who had been made up to full time when Park and Loop was introduced last year have just had their hours reduced to 35. They never signed anything last year and weren't given any advance warning about the reduction, they just came in on Wednesday to be told "What are you doing here? You're forty minutes early."

you wont have nothing to sign as it is classed as only temp fulltime so they can change it when they feel like it , so dont hold your breath, but get the money while you can.

Yes, you will get extra holiday and sickness pay if you get a written FT contract.

No, you will not get extra Delivery Supplement, you were getting pro rata extra @ SSPR overtime upto 39 hours. That is why SSPR has a higher o/t rate than "first 10 hours."

The all round best system in a large-ish office for the part-time 3 day week is rotating thursday-monday with tuesday,wednesday as fixed days off and 1 in 4 saturdays off.

Week 2...on....off....off.....on.....off...on.
Week 3...on....off....off.....on.....on...off.
Week 4...off...off....off.....on......on...on.

The best system from a member's point of view is 1 in 2 saturdays but harder to achieve without reducing overall full-time posts.

We are due to have 7 made up from 30 hrs to 39 hrs in my office. Then they are recruiting for P/Timers to take their place. Proves how short staffed we have been a year after P&L came in.
