Undelivered D2D Items
Every time i have a weeks holiday my door to door are never delivered,The idiot manager we have just says "well they need to be done"
Now i am really pissed off with it,I am back in today and last weeks not done again,3 lots 780 houses worth,Bulky too.
Manager not back in until tomorrow,I am not bloody doing them,Not touched them today and tomorrow when he says they need doing i will tell him to get his comfy shoes on and do them himself.
If he insists i do them,I will ring the area rep,Walk out,Ring his boss,Ring the pissing police,The prime minister,Anyone.
Sick of being put under extra pressure when i return from holiday.

Re: Undelivered D2D Items
Why you stressing....just put them in the corner of your office(where all excess d2d's are put)..leave the labels on...and if there is any comeback as to why they weren't delivered..it will fall to your manager to explain why they didn't go...not you..chill dude...enjoy the sunshine...

Re: Undelivered D2D Items
I had the same argument with an old DIM a couple of years ago, told him I was not going to do them, however I did offer to do them if he paid OT. needless to say he did not and I did not :)
now though DIM's are getting in trouble for sending back undelivered D2D's
, but at the end of the day (s)he knows that you are off work and also knows that they need to be delivered, so not your problem.
if he does tell you that you have to do them, get your rep involved.

Re: Undelivered D2D Items
It's not your problem if they were not delivered last week.
It is your problem if you are told to deliver them this week and you refuse,or as has been suggested you hide them in the corner of the office without informing management.
Do not play silly buggers with your job,can you imagine turning up at a tribunal and saying i'm a postman who was told to deliver something,i refused and they sacked me....no fair.

Someone was paid to do them last week. If your manager starts moaning tell him/her to give them to whoever did your walk last week as clearly they failed to do thier job properly!

I disagree FT. D2Ds are now part of the workload. If They turned up last week they are that persons workload for that week! If they had no time to do them then it should have been flagged up by them and not this guys problem this week!

Re: Undelivered D2D Items
try this one I did and it worked when they tried it with me
manager: unfortunately there are some d2d from last week whe you were off that need delivering
me: fine go find who was on it last week and tell them
manager: I don't know who was on it last week so you will have to take them
me: not happening
manager: If I have to I will give you a direct order
me: Fine then I will take them, but I will demand signing on sheets for last week and when I find out who was on this walk I will demand they are taken down the conduct code for not delivering d2d
manager : fine
me: after that I will demand you are also taken down the conduct code line for failing to ensure the correct frame checks were carried out to ensure the delivery officer was taking their quota of d2d
manager: erm gimme 5 mins
5 mins later
manager: give them to me and I will get rid of them, you just take this weeks
end of the day it is their job to ensure the d2d are taken in time not yours ( if you are on a/l) call their bluff they are taking the piss

If a york of mail turned up from the MC that had been missed and left in the corner for a week would you refuse to deliver it on the grounds that it's last week's workload?
The OPG who left the D2D last week should be dealt with, the whole situation should be flagged up to your rep to make sure it isn't repeated and if needed extra resources should be put in place but at the end of the day refusing to deliver mail on the grounds that "it's someone else's work" is a very risky game and not something i would advise anyone to do.
Some of the unnecessary risks members take with their job security quite frankly makes me want to cry.

Re: Undelivered D2D Items
Well done you, I have had the same situation happen to myself and partner and put the emphasis on the line manager who should have checked the daily D2D delivery. Add to this all managers have recently received a big bonus (not sure if it was for D2D).feduppostie wrote:try this one I did and it worked when they tried it with me

I also asked for a grievance form so I could name the line manager, I did not get a form but neither did I have to do the D2D.
NO bags on shoulders please except for Moya who keeps her big fat wage packet in hers

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

If a york of mail had been missed then it had been missed not deliberately left so I can't see the comparison really? You can't really miss a stack of D2Ds propping up your desk can you?
Not quite sure why you would worry about a person insisting that someone else does the work they had been paid for previously either. The D2Ds were there and were either the cover blokes responsibility or the linos. Should management insist he does someone elses work then that is victimisation as clearly the only person not at fault here is the guy that has returned from his break/holiday!
Management could deal with this in a variety of ways but ultimately if pushed into a corner I guess I would take them out and try to deliver them. But I cut off pretty much every day anyway so I'd just be cutting off even more!

Re: Undelivered D2D Items
It's management's problem, they should make the cover postie do them. The D2D's have a time limit on them. I used to get them left after hols, used to take them out,got paid extra. Recently some were left, started to delver them, looked at the date they had run out, so gave up. Don't bother anymore.

Re: Undelivered D2D Items
usually agree with fishtank on most things but not this one, door to door are classed as mail and should go the week due, if some lazy arse as left them, then they and the line manager should be up for wilful delay i would get rep in for advice but they wouldnt go at our office.

Re: Undelivered D2D Items
I seem to remember that when we had a postie who decided he couldnt cope with delivering all his mail and a few bags were found in a box somewhere, all the mail that had been willfully delayed was bagged by the managers in a special RM bag informing the addressee that their mail had been delayed and RM were aware of it and were sorry yada yada yada. As d2d's are now classed as live mail, any undelivered d2d's should surely be given the same treatment?kangaroo22 wrote:usually agree with fishtank on most things but not this one, door to door are classed as mail and should go the week due, if some lazy arse as left them, then they and the line manager should be up for wilful delay i would get rep in for advice but they wouldnt go at our office.
