Im a part timer... who works 25 hours a week and my door to doors are never made up for me! i was told to take them home one day which i refused... as i spoke to another manager on a different day who told me this was bad procedure.
I dont mind doing some up if i have spare time, etc im bagged up and waiting for the van driver... but sometimes ill get lumbered with them and pressured to go out late to make door to doors up... or even be told to take them on a saturday... im on a different job everyday... so prep is a little slow... as is everything else when on a new round
What should i do!?

we have been told that d2d are only done by full timers part timers only deliver them.

I am a 25 hour duty holder and I prep and frame them all myself.
they are supposed to be live mail and as such should be chucked in with the real mail each day, however they are not lol.

Part Time / Full Time has nothing to do with it. It depends on the duty. In my office its the duty holders responsibility to prep and deliver them, and time is built into the duty. Time is built in to prep mail, do redirections, kill offs etc etc and deliver the bloody stuff. Go over and claim, or cut off as required.
Personally, the few times someone has prepped my door to doors I've hated it. They do it strangely, like put them at the front of the slot, put larger ones first instead of last, and even put letters in between leaflets.

There is no set agreement.
It will be down to local resourcing arrangements which will be driven by the part-timers daily hours.
It is important to say though that nobody has the right to refuse to prep D2D no matter what your hours are because they are just work.
All you can do is explain the impact that prepping them will have on your ability to complete your delivery and leave that resourcing problem to management.
If it is an ongoing issue it should be flagged up by your rep at the weekly resource meeting.

Our floaters do the bare minimum - 1/6th. If I'm on the duty on the monday and it would inconvenience me later in the week I always set them all in.

We had loads of ppl in on there day off today Tuesday ,was an easy tues anyway ,but these guys got out the door at a shocking time . Why does the r mail pay out all this overtime when there all finished miles b4 there time. Throwing money away ,great practice,!

In an office not far from where i work..there are several managers and even a Dom..prepping them up for walks and even throwing them into various fittings for posties to deliver every day of every week...what manager fail to understand is once they have put 4 or 5 lots of d2d's together and thrown them into walk frames..posties come in the next morning and struggle to throw their walks out due to these very same d2d's ..many a time i have seen postie pull these d2d's out in order to make room for 1st class mail...
