Hi Guys, need your thoughts on this, there very short this sat 9th June and Its my rostered day off, the Dom has asked if I can work it?.
I said Im already doing things not often I get a Saturday off.
Though now I feel really guilty about it!! I know I shouldnt and its not my problem but they must have know they would be short a week ago?.
Any ideas?.

Well I would think to myself - how many other rostered days has he asked me to work and judging on that....................I'd still say NO.

It is YOUR day off – you decide how to use it.

If you want to take it off, then do so.

If you really need the additional money that it would bring in, then work it.

No doubt they will lay it on with a trowel, but do not allow yourself to be made to feel “guilty”. The situation is not of your making and neither is it your responsibility to come up with the solution.

A few years ago i used to work the odd sat off but this was when you could be finished just after 9am and for that it was worth it.

I no longer think it is as you only get 6 hrs money for the same amount of work that you take out during the week. For me its a BIG no thank you.

However if you need the money then OT is OT.

My thoughts exactly !! but then again if needs must .......only "taptap" has the answer to that,
and as for feeling guilty....FORGET that.

I'd also add, it depends what your lino's like. Ours is hard but fair, and remembers those who do him favours.

If he's an eejit, then probably not worth worrying about if you don't need the money
