# In accordance with his contract of employment, during the year W Hayes received a taxable, non-recurring payment of £29,580 in lieu of 87 days unused holiday entitlement accrued since 2000.
Naughty boy Billy.
Take your holidays,it protects full-time jobs.
I was told you could only carry forward 5 days max, so how comes hes got 87 days from 2000, he should have lost them. " If you don't use them you loose them," thats what we are told.

I suppose if your job is quite easy and involves alot of wine and dining you don't want to take days off

Billy doesn't work for Royal Mail.

That's his salary.
£90,210.01 to be precise last year...plus the holiday pay.
Not that much compared to Moya's £500k basic but can you compare the two roles?
She is head of a company with a multi-billion turnover and almost 200,000 staff whereas Billy is the political figurehead of relatively small union with a few hundred paid staff and a turnover of £28m.
Well everyone should know he has our best interests at heart really................after his own of course. It's a bloody disgrace the way the union is corrupt at the very top, I mean no guesses as to who put forward the proposal, who seconded it and who passed it. Lets also take a peek at the pension that they will receive - we are now on a career average but how about those who are employed by the CWU????????????, has their pension rights also been cut? So he's averaged 8 days accrued a year for the last 11 years but who checks his diary and what about the nice little jaunts abroad. To be honest in my opinion he's just a greedy b*stard; that money is from the members who have lost enough money without having someone with his hand in their pocket.
Just as a matter of interest is anyone else getting a nice little earner.
I was on holiday in Bournemouth a few years back with my family and I saw Billy in the Elstead Hotel restaurant with his family, so he does take his holidays ?
No doubt he,s had a few days off on the sick as well during that time. I bet CWU does not have such a draconian Sickness Warning scheme similar to that which they have negotiated for us.
Failing to take ones holidays suggests an inability to manage ones workload properly, and maybe an inability to delegate, and we might expect better from someone on his salary. Furthermore since Victorian times legislation has recognised holidays as a being necessity and working without such breaks is likely to adversely affect ones health and work performance. Questions will no doubt be asked at the next CWU conference.
