Didn't realise it was such a complex affair.

In our office the first we knew was some blokes turned up to do a "survey" and hey presto 5 months down the line the frames arrive complete with a gang of "who knows who" putting them up - this week end and as I don't work Mondays I haven't seen the end result yet...............

if its the ''indoor flow'' you.re on about, its supposed to be put in place before you get some of the lump sum we get for the revisions. our indoor is now fully in place. we,ve got 2 primaries back to back with a space inbetween the back of them for a 'porter' to clear down peoples mail for them ( the primaries have open backed frames with luggage cords to stop mail falling out the back, and the porter just accesses the mail through these cords) he then loads up his trolley with trays of mail that he clears down for people, and takes it round to the relevant prep frames and gives it to a ''dedicated prepper'' so he has a constant supply of mail as he preps 2 dutys over the space of the morning. the ''porter'' does this all morning, in turn HIS duty is being prepped in by a ''dedicated prepper''.... on the primary you have ''dedicated sorters'' who sort mail all morning while they in turn are being prepped in by a ''dedicated prepper'. there are no flats frames any more, ALL the mail goes into the primary. they are a4 sized boxes so you get flats AND letters in the same box that the ''porter'' clears down for you...., over at the ''bullring'' you have miniture yorks ( about half normal size) with the red collapseable cover on them. these are you,re new ''packet bags''. (there are no drop bag frames anymore)into these, all you,re packets and parcels are sorted by,,,,,you,ve guessed it,,,a ''dedicated packet soter'', he, in turn, has his duty prepped in by a ''dedicated prepper''. when you are ready, you go over to the bullring a get you,re miniture yorkie, and wheel it over to you,re prep frame to mark up you,re packets. oh, i forgot, the porter also brings you you,re sequenced mail trays round to you,re prep frame as well as you,re manual mail. its all happy days,,,until you tell them you are not extending,,, because you,ve been pulled off you,re prep duty to help on the primary or in the bullring because they dont have enough people to run the office efficiently.

Wow that sounds brilliant! We managed to get the backless frames in but porters? we didn't have enough people to extend to "dedicated porters" - so we do have double preppers but we've had them for over a year, so really it's the same old same old but from the back..................of course some people prefer it thst way

I don't know what they are because I haven't seen them but they are in the plan for flow through.
