Does 1 in 6 sats really create more full time jobs in an office , I suspect the managment are telling us that because it's easier to manage , or am I just being overly suspicious

1 in 6 saturdays is the easiest for them to manage ive heard reports of offices who voted for 1 in 4 but management have somehow (with help of union reps) changed it back to 1 in 6 its a disgrace this whole revision was supposed to have our input but that aint happening and the unions just sitting on its arse watching the world go by.

Don't forget that at least 1 in 4 Saturdays off was part of the deal for accepting this in the first place.

I can honestly say if management tried to take the 1in4 back in our office we would be at the gate,ballot/no ballot/no support from branch,whatever...it wouldn't make any difference we would be at the gate.
If it was with the help of the rep he/she would be an ex-rep just as soon as we could set up a no confidence vote....roughly 5 minutes after we hit the gate

I agree, but, in my office it was the staff who didn't want to change.

It was 50/50 in my office at the start now 6 month in some who stayed with 1 in 6 want to move to the 2 in 6 that the rest of the office moved to. Management will not entertain it at all.

We are having our 1 to 1 meetings this week , both managers and rep are "steering" people towards the 1 in 6 and i fear it is already a "done deal".

NOGGIN ,IF YOUR THE ONLY ONE IN THE OFFICE THAT WANTS 1 IN 4 ITS YOUR RIGHT TO HAVE IT AND NOTHING MANAGEMENT CAN DO IF YOU STICK TO YOUR GUNS. IN OUR OFFICE THERE ARE 8 OUT OF 100 STAFF ON 1 IN 4 SATS AND ITS GREAT.

Yeah why not. For example if your on a 32 hours contract you could quite easily work those hours over 4 days (8 hour days) and be on a 4 day week. Therefore you have a 1 in 3 saturday with a fri,sat,sun,mon,tues off every 3 weeks. Plenty of ways to work it in a rota etc.

Im part time 25 hours , i don't know if that could be worked into 1 in 4

4 days at 6 hours 15 mins would give you a 4 day week. Amazing what can be done with duties etc when you sit down and take a look. Need to spend sometime doing it but you can be really innovative if you want.
