Payslip

Am I being dumb and should take more notice, But I got my wage slip today and had a deduction of £9.89 (POAL) Can anyone shed some light on what this is? This is the 1st time I've ever had it, Well what i can remember.

Payment Of Annual Leave = you have bought extra leave

why can't they just put 'purchase of annual leave' on the payslip so people actually know what it is instead of POAL which makes no sense to anyone :crazy:

Because then they would have to make the person who keeps coming up with all these acronyms redundant. Never known a company to have so many that so many dont know what they stand for.

All you need to know is that when DSA, DIM, DOM, PDA, MECH, P739 (?), ATOS, HCT, IPS or IWT are mentioned do what I do - just squint and nod. Nobody really knows what's going on and since no one admits it everything remains fine.

While I'm about it, what sense does door to door make?

I do know what a Y.O.R.K. is. :angel

Cheers for that.(sorry work nights) But is £9.89 a bit excessive for an extra week? or will it be a one off that high?

That would be payment for 2 weeks not 1.

£514 a year we are on £380 quid a week so not that high and then with the pay rise people are going to be paying more for extra holidays

So we pay an extra £514 a year for extra holidays.I take it that's what you mean?.

We were once asked to congregate in the ISS - and nobody knew where to go.
Apparently it meant the Inward Secondary Sorting area - and I still don't know where it is.

Hello. I was wondering if there was someone out there who could just tell us what all the different acronyms mean please? A list will do as I'm getting fed up with looking and trying to figure out if the idiots at my place have actually paid me correctly! :mad I've just called HR and they told me to go to my manager, who is also useless so whats the point! Grrrr.
