Where is the correct delivery point?

If you deliver to a shop where the till or counter is the other end of the shop, with loads of shelves/displays etc to navigate around as well as customers. can you leave it by the door or must you take it to the staff other side of the long sales floor? What if you have to go up two flights of stairs to get to the customer? In both scenarios, some posties leave it by the door or downstairs, because anywhere in the building is the delivery point. Is this correct? What if the mail gets nicked?

I beg to differ based on my experience, a walk in my place had extra "metreage" put into the system by the planners (through mediation with our rep) from the centre of the road (not pavement) to the back of each business, to try and allow extra time to hand over mail safely to a shop employee/volunteer.

I always thought the main thing is a secure delivery, leaving the post where anyone can get it is not secure, and if it is nicked you will be done under the conduct code.

I think shops are a grey area tbh.

On the one hand the letterbox is the delivery point but that is when the shop is closed.

I used to take the mail up to the counter and leave it there. This often meant the trolley was left on the pavement which i was not happy about.

go to the nearest till or reception desk etc, u wouldnt walk up to tesco and just dump the mail at the door, bit off comon sense
