P/t Postie, passed Sec checks, when will RM contact me?

Hey everyone, I recently got offered and accepted a p/t postie job with driving (25 hours a week + 5 hours O/T). Checked my online app the other day and I have passed the secruity checks. So when do I hear from RM again about my start date? Can I ring them? if so what number?

thanks Blue, So best scenario I could start in two weeks time, or a month...... or 6months

Thing is im currently on JSA and dying to get off it, I hate that place and everything to do with it, the quicker I start this job the better!

Yes it is a tedious waiting game. 6 months is the outside others have had quicker turnarounds.

When I was in your place I couldn't find any number. Its all noreply emails as far as I remember. Perhaps some else knows if you can call some where. Really, the impression that it can't be right that you are just left hanging is pretty normal. It is that rubbish. Hopefully you'll get a call soon.

You should get a call with a start date and induction date (which could be many miles from your actual place of work, they pay travel though) which all they do is tell you dont steal things and sign a few forms over the course of 6 hours of tedium. Then you start the next day, if you're lucky with a couple of days training.

indeed, and carry your bank card around with you, as the first call they'll make will ask for bank details so you can be paid.

as for the reality of the job, the induction videos may as well be old episodes of postman pat, for all the relevance they bear to the actual job…
