39 hour week

We are about to institute a 39 hour week on the revision and I was wondering how it has been implemented in those areas who already have it. I would like to know also how MCs have managed the shorter week. For example has the week been shortened by a full hour or is it piecemeal across the week. Nothing has been decided yet so a good cross section would be most helpful.

We work the same hours we did on the 40 hour week, then get one in every six saturdays off to compensate for that extra hour week!

It just never happened in our office we are still all 40 hours a week. We all have a 6am start.

I like to think of as much time as possible at one time, probably 20 minutes over 3 days. The next question is what part of the day would be best?

Oh I don't know ccr, who dares etc. The deal has to be voted in and there must be scope for negotiation purely on that basis alone.

Yes that would be ideal but I'm told that is a non-starter.

re 39 hr week.
in our office all they have done is made the quieter days Mon/tuesday shorter by half an hr each day.
but if you go over your time say on monday the DOM wants you start later the next few mornings to save paying you the overtime.
