managers bonuses

i was told today from a fellow colleague that the government while looking at bankers bonuses are also going to take a very close look at the bonuses royal mail pays to its managers. Has anyone else heard this to confirm?? i for one hope they take a very close look as they get paid way too much for doing very little already then they get huge savings bonuses off our backs thru bulling tactics.

No manager in Royal Mail deserves any kind of bonus.
A more badly managed business is hard to imagine.

I doubt very much if anything will happen after all this is the conservative goverment so I have no doubt the ladder will be pulled up sharpish.

if they stop the high ups getting bonuses you can be sure that these high ups will then stop those below them getting one and so on and so on

The 'high ups' that you refer to, I presume is our dear friend Moya. I imagine when she took possession of the poisoned chalice that was Royal Mail, she successfully negotiated a great salary with bonuses written into her contract. Those bonuses may or may not be performance related but it either case will probably be paid to her regardless as to whether or not the public agree she's worth it as Royal Mail will be contractually bound to. I doubt very much the public give a flying fig about her bonus, after all they did nothing to stop it being sold off ! As for whether this filters down to 'the coffee machine gang', I would say that's very doubtful. Again, their union have probably negotiated the bonuses for them and they'll be paid accordingly. We may get the hump but unless you fancy going over to the dark side yourself, what are you going to do about it exactly??
