p and l what a joke

hi this is my first post.
We started p and l this weeK, first two days were ok as it was light.
Today well im on a 20hr contract been in the job about 4 weeks.So i turn up at 8 already an hour early to find nothing has been sorted for my walk. so i begin to throw the job up for the first time i have never done it before. 11.30 all bundled up and out the door so i took me 4.5 hours or so now i wasnt alone other people were late out as well but we were the last two out. so you can quess what follows we got back to the office for 5.15 what a joke. now we got paid overtime so not a problem but what a mess just felt like i needed to tell somebody. thanks

bit of advice do not turn up an hour before your start time

and if not starting early maybe the ft staff would have had it prepped
and if it was me i would go to canteen and let you get on with it cheers mate and thaks for working for 000000000000000 give me shout when your through.

well that part was sorted about starting early getting paid two hours extra a day from now on

Royal Mail managers never pay people to start early, so it is not good idea to do it. If you do, the management will take advantage and put you on bigger walk.

So if you start an hour early and do 5 hours work everyday and finished 1 hour early in Royal Mail book you have only done 4 hour work, and they can ask you to do extra work. So only do it when you got extremely important thing need doing ie catch a flight after work.

why do people think they are obligated to come in early

please dont

it has an effect on the IWT, traffic figures etc,

its making out the office is doing better than it is

dont come moaning to me when they start putting more work on the deliveries or start lapsing

all you people on fixed term contracts

dont think you are doing royal mail any favours hoping for a full time position

as soon as the revision in your office has been maxed, you are out the door, plain and simple.

they are not goping to make someone on a full time contract redundant when they have fixed term do you.

the fixed term staff are just to pick up the pieces in the short term, this was all worked out two years ago, royal mail knew exactly what they were doing

thats what the revision is all about, reducing duties and man hours

when park and loop is introduced into an office there is a 6 week bedding in period.
at our office all the full timers have told the manager to stuff his overtime and are working to rule.

the manager has instead got the part timers to come in early and they are taking the docket.
