Fundraising tops £500k
It’s amazing.
We have now raised more than £500,000 for this year’s BBC Children in Need appeal, a staggering sum.
This total represents an increase of more than 10% on what had been collected at this stage last year.
Since 2007/8, we have now donated well over £2 million.
The latest fundraising is even more noteworthy against a background of economic austerity, which has seen everyone tighten their belts.
The company is proud of everyone who raised money, no matter how small, for this worthy cause.

Great achievement
This great achievement is the cherry on the cake of what has been a fantastic year for fundraising at Royal Mail.
Despite the gloomy economic climate, as a company we have contributed £2.5 million to around 800 charities through Payroll Giving (https://www.myroyalmail.com/mrm/appcommunity/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;) in 2011.
The contribution took the total amount raised to a whopping £43 million since the scheme began in 1989.
A remarkable achievement and one we are very proud of.
