The only way forward I can see is for the individual to stump up and prove his dissability and the effect it has on him in the workplace, which doesn't seem fair to me but you do have to take both sides into account. Certainly not saying the individual doesn't have the condition but from RM's side they have to have profesional proof of the condition, else the flood gates could open, and we all could get DDA without medical evidence.....

I believe thankfully that RM cannot close it's doors to people with disability which is 100% correct. And i'm sure without legislation companys like RM would happily leave these people on the scrap heap . Left to their own devices they would only employ people under 30 who can run 100 meters in less than 11 seconds. Just because individuals have a disability it does not mean they are of no use to an employer, in fact in many cases they can prove to be as much if not more of an asset than us more fortunate able bodied employees.....

Maybe he passed the exam and then after sometime he became dyslexic thus the need to be moved indoors.
Afterall 1 in 4 people will have some sort of illness that will be covered by the Equality Act at some point in their life.
i myself worked for 20 years on delivery until my serious illness hit me and I can't now do a delivery,never stops the plebs at work moaning on about `how easy` I have it now that I'm indoors.
Funny how they forget I have been bullied by the management for 4 years and was even dismissed last year because of my condition,and have to have 12 meds before I even set out the door in the morning.

I took IHR rather than come back and do indoor work because I didn't want to put up with the constant sniping from my "colleagues" and the pressure from management to do more than I was able. I wish I hadn't now, but at the same time, I'm glad I did as I would probably have ended up quitting or going off sick with stress and depression.

Looks like things are moving in the right direction now as R/M are paying for an assessor,good news for all concerned i think.
