Can anyone tell me if you get the keys of your vehicle locket inside your cab due to a
Faulty lock does it Breaks’ R.M Security rules ?

Used to happen regularly with the 18T DAFs and the management viewpoint was.... "why did you get out of the cab, leave your keys in there and close the door ?"

So short answer is yes :(

The security rules say about taking the keys out of the van when you exit the van............so the answer is yes.

There is nothing in the driver’s manual to say when you should take your keys out the cab.
That fact is I got out of my cab the wind was so strong last Friday (60/100mph) it shut the door
With such force it slammed it shut before I had the chance to get my keys and gloves.

In the security rules........download and check out page seven, it states that keys to be removed from the ignition and kept on person.

they always do it aFTER XMAS TO GET THE WORK OUT OF YOU

Do they not think of the stress and worry it causes not only to you but your family?
Because right at the bottom of the charge sheet it reads one of the possible outcomes could be my dismissal. I am of work now due to work related stress I recon that will be another formal conduct interview for me.

It really depends on your previous record but I wouldn't worry about it, unless you've got a sacking DSM then you're more likely to get a warning (normally a 2 year suspended dismissal).

Dont worry my friend ,i asked about security of vans and we were told .You DONT need to take your keys out of van as long as you have visible view of van , and its only a short distance .Now u cant have one rule for one office and another rule for another .If your manager says they should be removed EVERYTIME u leave your van then ask him to INFORM EVERYBODY at a wtl as to this .We had this problem at our office we said it would put more time on your delivery, wont do the starting motor any good etc .PO change the rules when it suites them
