Who's office is chock a block with packets & parcels

Ours is, & there is no way they are all gonna be delivered for Xmas, this mail lark is crazy.

Last couple of weeks have been a nightmare with packets there were yorks of packets stored in the canteen the other week,we've had extra driving duties and sunday ot since start of december callers office is always packed with P739'd items stored in alts outside

Ours is full too plus more and more are coming in in all the transfer lorries, I think RM are going to get their arse seriously bitten this year, no snow to blame it on either

Its bad this is, cutting costs, cutting staff. You cant put a square peg in a round hole. Too much to do, you can only take out so much stuff, I don't want to be walking round after 3pm no matter if its Xmas or not. I remember when I first started over 20 years ago, we had a couple of Sunday deliveries to ease the situation, & on Xmas Eve there was nothing in hardly, so we were told you can go out & when you finish you can go home, I was out & back before it was light. That was in the days of ealy morning starts 4,45am.

Royal Mail have been cutting staff and making deliveries longer, it's hard enough the rest of the year to get deliveries done let alone christmas. But will Royal Mail take more staff on (delivery side) to get the job done? NOOOO

we cleared a lot of parcels on sunday but today we have been hit
so the build up begins again. but as i am in london every office is clear distribution staff happy
processing staff happy
delivery staff on suicide watch but happy.
well in the courier everyones happy.

No. Our revision doesn't start till Feb, and we're screwed. There are yorks of packets that have been sitting for about a week. Management are more concerned about staff cutting off than getting the mail delivered. Controlled carry overs ever single day. We'll clear our packets sometime in March at this rate.

Our office has park&loop but is clear.
Like i said though it has came at a price.

I was expecting to see something posted from HQ regarding the H&S aspects. Our office is strewn with packets, there's a serious fire risk with yorkies sometimes impeding fire exits, packets piled up around people's frames - pure chaos - simply not enough spare capacity to go around. Returns are being squirreled everywhere, even the cleaner's lock-up! Of course it was all ship-shape when DOMinic (The Donkey) was hob-nobbing the local MP on his annual visit. The docket junkies are happy though .

If they're blocking the fire exits then that's a serious H&S issue, contact area safety rep and get them down to the office to sort it out (I'm sure brothermagrew will know the full details but I wouldn't be working if they're blocking the exits).

Ours wasn't clear on Saturday and the offer of Sunday O/T at a derisory rate was (apparently) rejected by all. I am, therefore, making the highly logical assumption that we are even farther away from being clear come stumps today (it's my day off so I don't know). The chance of us being clear by Christmas is infinitesimally low.
