in the past 18 months i have had my walk tested twice ,the last one was on the 26 oct 2011 , i have not been given any report on the outcome on both of them ,after asking for it on a number of times the Reason i got tested on the last one was because i sent an e mail to my dom telling him i woulnt be lapsing anymore as it was causeing great stress and inpacting on my free time ie working over my 40 hrs . my dom is not based at my office and we have no management at our office. this monday i had to ring dom as xmas pressure arrangements had changed ,even thou he had promised they would remain the same as previous years ,i got into heated argument with him and than put the phone down on him before i said something i might regret . He rang me back and said he wanted to see me the following morning at his office as i had put the phone down on him. later in the day he rang me to say not to bother, He turns up at my office following morning and says he will not have me shouting at him down the phone and if it happens again he will send me home and go down the conduct code, he is now chasing up the report for my duty that was tested by a dom from outside our area and will get it before the end of the week ,and is sending down relief dom this Friday to go over it with me. As far as i was aware i thought that give you the report to mull over ,i think they are trying to stich me up ,as both times i still went 25 minutes over my duty time. Also is it right that they are allowed to stand their with a stop watch from the start of your prep time until the end.

i would be grateful for any info on how to go about this on Friday thanks

Firstly never lose your rag with a Dom as they are trained (well some) to deal with it and will use it against as a conduct code.

Are you a CWU member ?

You need to get your rep (or area rep if you do not have one) involved with this and attend any meeting you have with the Dom.

If your not CWU then just stay calm and dont get wound up. If the report goes against you then ask for it to be re-tested
with a rep present

thanx Krussel not in the cwu anymore ,and the frist guy to test it was an acting dom / safety officer ,and i think had it gone against me would have got the report within a week ,this is why i think its a stich up ,as i am the only one that rocks the boat in my office , most of my collegues are rushing around like mad so as they can finnish before time , but most have come in over 30 minutes early

Ok you will just have to see what they come up with. A lot of the time they try to pressure you with threats of testing but unless you have a very easy round it normally goes against them, hence they do very little testing.

Instead of trying to argue the test results (if its not in your favour) try to turn it around and say thay you clearly need more training or refresher training to improve your speed. If you put the ball back in their court they will have a tough time to make anything really stick as you have offered them a solution.

I came out of the union regards the manner which they conducted themselves during the BT2010 deal, but after being subjected to bullying from a member of management swollowed my pride and rejoined...... I'm far from happy with the support we get from the CWU but realise being iscolated can induce management bullying especially when you like to speak your mind.
If you don't choose to rejoin it is your right to take in to any meeting a work colleague to advise and witness proceedings, I would make sure i do this if I were you.....

For christ's sake Tony get back into the union,it's a few quid a week and by the sounds of it things aren't going to get better.
And give your colleagues a clip round the ear for carving the job up.

thanks all , my only problem with rejoining the union is the nearest rep is over 20 miles away , i work in a very small office with six walks , most of the posties don't understand that they are cutting off their noses to spite their face , we have lost quite alot of hours in this office ,and it his just been accepted ,as a couple of my co -workers sort out deals with the dom on my day off . should also mention 5 of the walks are mostley rural , just before i went on this duty an extra 45 minutes o/s work was put on it ,that was over 3 1/2 years ago and i have been fighting an up hill battle every since , as the floater and holiday relief always finnish early on it. i have asked so many times for a 318 for this duty but no avail . I never wash the van and nor does anybody else . Have asked the dom a number of times for the holiday list that should go up on the wall again he will not send one over. Part of my problem is i have worked in very big delivery offices so know the score but my fellow posties only know this .
