Hi,

Need some advice. Have been on a fixed term contract for just over 2 years (last 9 months have been on maternity)

I have been offered VR with a figure that is an (estimate) It states that it will be worked out on my last 26 weeks accesable pay.....

Now is this the pay I "actually" got (i.e none as I am on unpaid maternity leave now) or my usual weekly pay (work 24 hours a week)

Take the money and run :) Assuming you want to stay at home and enjoy being a mother.

It would give you money behind you when you go to College or University and develop a useful skill when the child get ready for school full time. But again it depend on what do you want to do.

It will be the 26 weeks prior to you starting maternity leave possibly even the 26 weeks before you informed Royal Mail you were pregnant.
As pregnancy and maternity leave affect earning opportunity using anything else would very likely be sex discrimination.
