Hi All,
Just to confirm that xxxxxxxxx DO management is trying to push through a 7hr Per day contract for 30hr staff rather than a 40hr contract which will impact on the part time earners Xmas bonus. I’d like to ask what other offices are being offered on this mailing list please so that I may compare when going back to local management on this issue.
Therefore would you all reply by end of day tomorrow to confirm your own local Xmas agreement regarding part time hours???

It is typical of the penny-pinching madness that runs Royal Mail.
I don't have BT2010 to hand but isn't there a bit about wanting everyone to feel a valued employee.

PTers in my office never get made up, they just do deliveries and maybe get to claim if over...........and this is the way it's always been since I started.

High Keith I'm a 30 hour contract.Past 3 years they have gave us 40 hours over six days+)extended delivery1-2hours every day) 
.to get the full bonus.Don't know what I'm getting this year.I was joking today, with my work mate,. that they might keep us on our normal hours.

Ignoring them being made up to 40hrs for a bit,if the 7hr days don't suit them then throw it out,if it does,then go for it.
Back to being not made up to 40hrs,is anyone suprised?
PS:Not sure how far you would get with the comparing thing,what happens in say my office has nothing to do with your place,you know how they work.

the volume of mail will determine how many hours you work.
the balls in the unions court at Xmas,
the pressure is on RM to clear all cards and packets by Xmas eve
the problem is the "bonus culture" within RM managements
their all greedy bastards who are totally self-centred
just take your time,do your job right
and watch them panic as the mail builds-up
they then beg you to work overtime
and its pay-back time for you

There should be no part-timers, it's not a part-time job.
Unless, of course, we're talking about management, they could easily be replaced by an earthworm on a 1sec contract.
