National Joint Statement - Delivery Transformation

Post by fishtank »

Dear Colleague,

National Joint Statement - Delivery Transformation (6 phase revision Process)

The Delivery Transformation statement is an affirmation of both parties commitment to the nationally agreed 6 phase revision process as contained in the BT 2010 agreement, and also to completing the delivery revisions/transformation by March 2013 in line with the agreed timescales. This affirmation to the 6 phase process also removes any dubiety about un-agreed processes and artificial timescales for revisions. There is only one revision process and it is contained in the BT 2010 agreement.

There is a reference to timescales in the Joint Statement and this should not be misinterpreted to mean all revisions will take 16 weeks. That is simply not the case; it is a reference to what can reasonably be expected in ideal circumstances. The revision process is about getting it right not how quickly it can be done.

The Joint Statement reinforces the role of the CWU Representative in the revision process, by confirming that release from duty will be provided to enable Reps to be involved right at the very start, throughout the planning, implementation and review. Branches and Representatives should also note that the Post Implementation Review (PIR) is an integral phase of the revision process and should ensure that it is always carried out as it is an avenue to put right aspects that may have gone wrong.

The introduction of delivery methods revisions in line with the national agreement i.e. the mandatory use of designated equipment and the cessation of private cars on delivery is also confirmed and where this is not being carried out it should be raised with Divisional Reps forthwith. Managers have a responsibility to ensure the right equipment is being used. The statement also commits Royal Mail Regional managers and CWU Divisional Reps to meet on a regular basis to review adherence to these agreed standards.

Rob and Bob - I want some of whatever they are on.
The societies of consumption and squandering of material resources are incompatible with the idea of economic growth and a clean planet.

Look on the bright side...
It may say exactly the same as the original agreement and it may be ignored in exactly the same way as the original agreement...but at least it's only two pages long.
Much easier to pointlessly wave under your managers nose. :Very Happy

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

On the Joint Statement dated 25th October it states that D2D's should be taken into account and also the use of MANDITORY trolleys.
When we had our revision 6 months ago these weren't taken into account.
Does this mean they will be revising the walks already gone through the revision process to take these factors into account??
