lost a tracked item ,the driver gave it to me at 7.30 in the morning the delivery point was the last on my walk who,s in the s**t me or the driver

Why did the driver give you a Tracked item? (I assume you are a walking postie)
He is supposed to scan it at the point of delivery (or not) not palm it off on a foot soldier.
Why did you take it? Is this a common practice in your DO?
If yes, I hope your manager is in the s**t.

The drivers in the s*** because he signed it out and then scanned it as delivered.

We don't sign for tracked.

I put them in my van.
They don't normally need much supervision to be honest.
I've never had one run away yet.

One a more serious note...why would i sign for something that i had no way of proving receipt at the other end?
That's just asking for trouble.

Some tracked items require a signature. It says on the label.

Some do,very few and when you shove them through the PDA it asks for a sig...but most don't and if i'm shoving something through a door without a sig you can be sure of one thing...i'm not signing anything saying i was the last to have it.

This company never ceases to surprise me, the tracked items have to be signed into to office so logically they should be treated along with the priority items.

drivers normally do all the tracked most do not need to be signed for but there are some
that need to be signed for.but this service is now becoming a joke due to customers using
this service for sending letters by tracked.
if the driver scanned the item it is down to him, it does make me wonder what happens
under these park and loop duties that everyone agrees in doing what happens when something
goes missing do they sack the driver and walking mate as they are on the same dutie.

We sometimes send them out with the posties, if they can clearly fit through a letter box.

This is more efficient than getting a van to drive to the address with it.

They have to be signed when they're delivered, doesn't matter if it's a letter or a printer, stop being efficient and obey the rules

No! The tracked system is purely a point to point indication of where and at what time it was delivered, with or without a signature. Without a signature it is a moot point as to whether it has been delivered correctly or not. We had a similar case with a driver stating it had been delivered via PDA and handing the packet off to a delivery woman who bunged it through the wrong door, which happened to be an empty house!!!! We did get it back but that system died the death there and then.

On receipt at the DO it is scanned as Ready for Delivery by the locker but taken to the delivery frame for delivery during IPS. I don't know how big your lockers are but there's no way we have the room to store them prior to delivery.

You have your own designated loops.
You are responsible for delivering the mail for your loops.
The large items are obviously the responsibility of the driver.
If something goes through your PDA you are responsible for it.
It isn't a case of grabbing handfuls of mail and jumping out the van...like starburst.
