just want to thank any of you that help with any questions i had, and put up with my constant updates and more questions.
I have my induction 25th october and start on 26th its been 18 months and im just so ecstatic that i can finally move on and into a career that i hope i will enjoy and excel at.
i really hope so, from what iv seen i think ill love it.
i just wish i didnt have to wait the 20 days to start, but i initially applied over 18 months ago so 20 days wont be too much i suppose.

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been. You can make a good start and make it a little bit easier on your first few days when you do eventually start by taking a look about the DO area get a handle on where the key areas are. If you already know all that - then feet up and await your executi... first day! Take your time with it when you do start, don't let them get the better of you. Sounds like youre set for a period of working a job you enjoy, can't be bad.

well i,ve got to admire your enthusiasm, and you probably deserve a better crack of the whip. however, these short term contracts they are giving out these days is entirely to THEIR benefit. if you dont or wont go over your time, if you are not as flexible as they want you to be, or if you wont roll over and play ball, then they wont extend it. but i hope you enjoy your time here, and good look with getting kept on and getting a longer contract.
well my current employer is very much in the same vain. I am most looking forward to the more sociable hours as well as guaranteed hours. So im used to being flexible, so i should be okay

it maybe a good idea in the coming 20 days while you are waiting to start to get some walking in so it won't be such a strain in your 1st few weeks

and don't worry about getting kept on just show them your worth
Its not a bad job by any means but can seem a bit overwhelming at first so just take your time so you dont make too many mistakes. Prob one of the hardest times of year to join with xmas and the worse weather coming up so if you can hack some of that then you will be "well in".

... as was mentioned you may want to get a bit of training in before you start. Best bet is to train as if you were walking to the moon and back then you should be ok!
