Just wondering how many of us have been the victim of irate customers following delivery of only 'junk' to their addresses?

I'm talking the normal shouty/swearing and also the angry and near violent act of items being handed back.

Also, following such events if one feels they are unsafe to deliver any items of mail to that person, what would the customer need to do to have services resumed?

I have a few houses on my round saying "no free newspapers or junk mail" etc. but they haven't opted out. This week I've had 5 D2Ds and 1 newspaper to deliver, when I asked if I should leave these houses out they said no deliver them still. So I think it's only a matter of time before they become irate!

These people need to go and see their doctors. If I got irate over rubbish coming through my door, I'd be in a permanently irate state.

These irate people need to realise that notes on the door/window are not acceptable for " nojunk mail" or "if I'm not in leave parcels at no.45" and alike. It is their responsibility to arrange things through official channels for what happens to their mail.

If they get abusive with the postie? Simple, no further deliveries, they are assigned to "call and collect."

excellent news for me then. What happens in cases where the customer is on the second floor of a tenement flat?

Reason I ask is the 'conversation' took place in a pitch black stairwell, so I could find them being put on call collect presents future issues

Just tell them thay can ring customers services and opt out. 99% won't bother

I did try telling the customer calmly (but loudly) that he could opt out - the tirade I got back was a belter, as was his manouver to hand me back the offending item.

although they could jam up the letter box and wait for their postie open the door hand back d2ds and say not mine mate names not on there

That's just refused isn't it ? , take it and put on a dead sticker saying refused. No argument no problems.

I can. I got my letter of notification from the DWP how much old age pension I'll be getting with the first payment on 30 Dec Just a pity it wasn't before the 25th - I may have been able to afford a turkey instead of the usual large sparrow
